“Alive Day” — New Essay in May’s Parent:Wise Austin

I’ve got a new short essay entitled “Alive Day” in the annual Mother’s Day print edition of Austin’s Parent:Wise magazine.

Parent:Wise is available for FREE around Austin right now, and will be posted online the first week of June.

“Alive Day” is a military tradition that celebrates the anniversary of a soldier’s escape from near death. For some mothers, their child’s birthday is their Alive Day and Mother’s Day is their Veteran’s Day.  This essay is dedicated to them.

I loved your article “Alive Day” in Parent:Wise. Thank you for your eloquent words representing all of us Wounded Warrior Mothers. I’m eager for the article to be available online so I can share it with my postpartum hemorrhage board.

I’ll send word (via Twitter and this blog) when it’s online, so feel free to subscribe if you’d like a reminder sent to your inbox.
